While reviewing an interview or set of interviews in TruVoice, you might find something interesting that you want to make a note of either for personal review, or to discuss with others. Earlier this year, we introduced a system for taking such notes, called “Topics.” We’ve recently improved and renamed the tool, now called “Notes.” In this post, we’ll explain some key functionality within the Notes tool and how each of the functions can be used.
Creating and Interacting with Notes
Any time you see the Notes icon you can create a Note. Visit our Help Center for more details on how to create Notes.
A few things to know about Notes:
Sharing Notes: You can decide who to share a note with. Keep it for yourself or specify users or groups of users that you want to share the Note with.
Mentioning users: Want to alert someone of your Note? We’ve got you covered there, too. We’ve added functionality to allow you to mention other users – simply type @ and you’ll see a list of users that you can mention. When a user is mentioned, they’ll get an alert informing them that you mentioned them.
Tagging Notes: Use tags to help you categorize your Notes. From the All Notes page you can filter to see Notes by tags. For example, if you see a good quote for marketing, you can create a Note with the quote, tag it with Marketing, and easily revisit it when you’re pulling together marketing materials.
Commenting on Notes: Any user that can see a Note can comment on it. As in the Note itself, you can mention users in comments to alert them of the comment. Use this to facilitate discussions both internally and with your Primary Intelligence team as needed to discuss items uncovered in a particular interview or set of interviews.
Viewing Notes: Notes can be seen in two places – the specific interview that a Note is attached to, and on the All Notes page, which can be accessed by clicking the green “Notes” button on the main dashboard. The All Notes page provides several filtering controls to help you focus only on the Notes you might be most interested in. By default, it’ll show you All Notes, but you can apply filters to show Notes with specific tags or categories, or to show only private Notes you’ve created for yourself.
